Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder – Review & Swatch

Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder – Review & Swatch

The Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder was offered to me as a sample while shopping, and I eagerly added it to my cart. Being a fan of Danessa Myricks’ incredible makeup techniques and looks, I couldn’t pass up the chance to test this product before committing to a full-size purchase. The packaging was immediately appealing. According to Danessa Myricks Beauty, this balm powder reduces texture, enhances coverage, and balances oils throughout the day while keeping the skin hydrated.

Packaging

The product comes in a bronzy round cosmetic jar.

Formula

The balm powder has a soft, velvety texture and a creamy color, featuring three key ingredients:

  • Upsalite: Balances and absorbs excess sebum and sweat while maintaining skin hydration.
  • Olive-derived Squalane: Balances oil production and reduces visible signs of aging.
  • Hyaluronic Acid: Promotes skin hydration.

Application

I use a small amount, scooped out with my finger, and apply it all over my face before foundation.

Pros

  • Multi-use
  • Hydrating
  • Velvety texture
  • Can be worn alone
  • Extends makeup wear
  • Provides a cooling and blurring effect
  • Suitable for all skin types, especially oily/combination

Cons

  • None

Overall, I love the packaging and the product’s application. It feels smooth and velvety, has a light scent that quickly fades, absorbs easily, smooths the skin, and dries to a nice matte finish. It significantly improves my foundation application. A little goes a long way, and it keeps my makeup fresh all day.

I received this as a sample, but the full-size product is priced at $36, which I find reasonable given its benefits. I plan to purchase the full size soon because it’s that good! I got the Universal – Colorless/Translucent shade, but there are ten more shades available.
